2 Player Raid Tycoon Guard Stat Tier List for Base Defense
Last updated:
Choose which owned guard to deploy by comparing health, armor, damage per shot and firing rate. These base-defense picks prioritize durability and frequent fire.
Quick Answer Overview
S tier: Vanguard's 155-HP configuration with 10% armor, 12 damage and 480 shots per minute. A tier: Police, Black Mesa and Vietnam Soldier tie at their recruitment stats. B tier: WW2 Soldier offers heavier, slower shots. C tier: Noob and Thug are equal starting options—equip one if that is what you own.
Base-defense ranking of seven guard stat configurations, prioritizing durability and frequent fire. Vanguard uses its 155-HP selected configuration; the other entries use their recruitment stats.

Base-Defense Picks by Guard Configuration
Use these tiers to choose among guards you already own. Vanguard's placement applies to its 155-HP selected configuration; the other placements use the recruitment configurations listed in the comparison.
Prioritize health and armor alongside firing rate. A higher damage number alone does not make a guard the better defensive pick: WW2 Soldier hits harder per shot than the other ranked configurations, but fires more slowly. Rarity alone is not a substitute for comparing those attributes.
Why Vanguard Leads and Rare Recruits Tie
Vanguard: the strongest combination here
The selected Vanguard configuration combines 155 HP, 10% armor, 12 damage and 480 shots per minute. It exceeds the ranked Rare recruitment configurations in all four attributes, making it the first choice for durability and frequent fire.
Police, Black Mesa and Vietnam Soldier: equal alternatives
Their recruitment configurations each have 125 HP, 5% armor, 9.6 damage and 150 shots per minute. Choose whichever you own; swapping between those matching configurations provides no advantage in these stats.
Keep the panel context consistent when comparing your own guards. Black Mesa and Vietnam Soldier also have selected management configurations displaying 9 damage, while their ranked recruitment configurations use 9.6. Compare your owned guard's displayed values before applying the tie to a different configuration.
WW2 Soldier: stronger individual shots, slower fire
The ranked WW2 Soldier recruitment configuration has 112 HP, 2% armor, 22 damage and 60 shots per minute. Compared with the ranked Noob and Thug configurations—100 HP, 0% armor, 8 damage and 150 shots per minute—it gains durability and damage per shot while giving up firing speed.
That tradeoff makes WW2 Soldier a useful early replacement. The Rare recruits rank above it because they combine greater health and armor with more frequent fire. Damage per shot and firing rate describe that tradeoff; multiplying them does not establish actual combat DPS.
Choose a Replacement and Equip It
Without the ranked Vanguard configuration, use an owned Police, Black Mesa or Vietnam Soldier with the matching Rare stats. If you have none of those, WW2 Soldier is the next pick. If you only have Noob or Thug, deploy one instead of leaving an available post empty while waiting for a stronger recruit.

Select the owned guard you want to deploy and compare its displayed stats.
Press EQUIP. Check the card's EQUIPPED or post marker to confirm its assignment. An equipped guard has an UNEQUIP action.
Guards exposed on walls or towers can be shot and killed from a distance, including from an opposing elevated position. A stronger guard still needs support from your base defenses.
