2 Player Raid Tycoon Verity Boss Guide

Last updated:

Verity turns from a floating yellow smiley into a red-eyed, sharp-toothed boss. Keep a ranged weapon ready: the fight has two phases, repeated hiding-and-healing sequences, and overlapping explosions and lasers.

Quick Answer Overview

Keep moving and shooting through both phases, following the Scientist's prompts. When Verity hides to heal, test the scattered targets: switch after NOPE! or WRONG!, then focus fire when boss health falls and the Scientist confirms the real one. Move off red circles while watching crossing beams, and keep attacking through the final CRASH prompt.

From Money Objectives to Hostile Verity

During GET THE MONEY, the objective starts at 0/4. Follow the yellow arrow beside the floating smiley toward the cash bundles around the outdoor roads and grass. Collect the cash and watch the objective counter separately—a cash increase does not by itself mean the four-part objective is complete.

When the Scientist warns that someone has shot Verity and tells everyone to get back, move away. Verity accuses the players of hurting him, his friendly face changes to red eyes and sharp teeth, and the surroundings darken.

If SEND HIM HOME appears, bring the Verity following you toward the arrow-marked cylindrical device on the grass between the bases. Use the Send Him Home device route for the approach to its platform.

Fight Through the Transition and Phase 2

Once Verity's boss health bar is active, equip a ranged weapon and attack alongside the other players. Track him as he moves, keeping enough attention on the ground to reposition while firing. For general aiming and equipment advice, see combat tips and weapon choices.

  1. Maintain fire during the first phase. When the Scientist says Verity is lagging or glitching, keep attacking—the prompt means your attacks are working.
  2. Respond to the current dialogue. Overlapping Verity images can accompany different prompts. Continue firing during lagging or glitching; switch to finding the real target when the Scientist warns that he is hiding to heal.
  3. Continue until the cinematic transition. The Scientist's warning that jets are coming still calls for continued attacks. The first health bar disappearing does not end the encounter.
  4. Resume shooting when PHASE 2 appears. Verity can glow orange-yellow, and the fight continues with another health bar. Follow the bar in your encounter rather than expecting one fixed HP total.
  5. Keep attacking through the CRASH prompt. The final push requires sustained damage, so continue tracking Verity while avoiding the attacks around you.

Find the Real Verity When He Hides to Heal

When the Scientist warns that Verity is hiding to heal, several smiley targets scatter around the arena. Find the real one quickly so the group can resume effective damage before he recovers further.

  1. Test individual targets with shots. Turn toward the scattered smileys and aim at one candidate at a time.
  2. Switch after NOPE! or WRONG! These messages reject the target you are shooting. Move your aim to another candidate.
  3. Watch for actual boss-health loss. The Scientist's “There he is! Keep hitting him!” confirms the real target. If that line does not appear immediately during a later split, keep tracking the candidate whose health starts falling.
  4. Maintain fire on the confirmed Verity. Follow him as he grows back into the large face or moves closer.
  5. Repeat when he scatters again. The hiding mechanic can recur, including during PHASE 2.

Use the feedback together. Clones can share the VERITY name, identical health values, and even PHASE 2 labels. False targets can also produce small damage numbers. Color alone is unreliable: the successful target can be gray-white or yellow. Prioritize rejection messages, falling boss health, and the Scientist's confirmation over appearance.

Move Through Red Circles and Crossing Lasers

Move off red ground circles into nearby unmarked space. These markers warn of area attacks that can produce bright impacts, fire, and smoke. Keep Verity in view while moving, but check where you are about to step: new circles can appear along your next route.

Watch two beam sources as you reposition:

  • Verity's eyes: long beams can angle down across the arena.
  • Smaller smiley balls: low horizontal beams can pass near your legs and cross other beams.

Leaving a red circle does not clear every threat. Lasers and explosions can overlap, so keep adjusting your position while firing. Combine running and jumps when moving through the attack pattern, but do not rely on jumping alone to prevent damage.

A pit opening can give you an angle to shoot Verity overhead. It is not a safe refuge: red markers and explosions can also cover lower-passage exits and ramps. Check the route out before climbing back to the upper arena.

Recognize the End of the Encounter

The encounter ends after PHASE 2, when Verity and his health bar disappear and daylight returns. Colored smiley effects can accompany his departure. The Scientist says he is gone for now and later congratulates the players.

Making Verity CRASH drives him away temporarily; it is not a permanent defeat.
